Artist's Statement:

I knew from the first minute that I started working with clay that this was the medium for me! Unfortunately this realization didn't occur until after I'd already completed my degree in painting and fashion illustration.

Through numerous workshops and apprenticeships, I have been able to spend the last thirty years creating varied types of traditional pottery. Along the way, I have recently discovered the processes of hand-building pottery rather than following a traditional wheel-throwing method. I no longer had to be stuck with round pottery!

Today I follow the path of hand-formed earthenware. This has allowed me to combine my love of painting and my fascination with developing new glazes and colors.

I am deeply influenced by the progressive northern European potters of the sixties.

Thank you for enjoying my new work!
