Artist Statement:

To me nothing is more humbling and at the same time more exciting, than approaching a blank canvas. It is a great privilege to work as an artist . It continually challenges me to grow and learn, both in skill and knowlege of the stunning diversity of the world around us.

Kim's work reflects a strong sense of design, direct observation, and a sensitive palette, as well as a passion for recording the natural world. She is a devoted brid-watcher and her paintings tell the stories of her personal observations and interaction with birds in the field. Over the years as her style and approach to art have matured, Kim has returned to her love of nature for her delicate subjects.

Beck's passion is facing the challenges associated with depicting avian subjects. She hopes to insprie other to feel the awe and reverence that she feels for the diversity and beauty of the natural world that we encounter daily.
